Welcome to the NARFE Dulles Chapter 1241 website!  You may have come to this website to learn something about NARFE Dulles Chapter 1241 and/or about the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).  I hope that you have some time to open and peruse the information in all of the sections of this website.

But first, I have a few questions for you.  How did you hear about NARFE and what do you know about NARFE?  Do you know what NARFE stands for, and what it does and offers?

NARFE was founded in 1921 and its mission is:

  • To support legislation beneficial to federal civilian employees, annuitants, and potential annuitants under any federal civilian retirement system and opposed those detrimental to their interests;
  • To promote the general welfare of federal civilian employees, annuitants, and potential annuitants, to advise and assist them with respect to their rights under retirement, health, and other employees and retiree benefits laws and regulations, and to represent their interests before appropriate authorities; and
  • To cooperate with other organizations and associations in furtherance of these general objectives.

NARFE membership is available to all who are or will be eligible to receive a federal civilian annuity or survivor annuity from the United States government. Federal unions, such as the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), address the rights and benefits of some specific current federal empolyees.  However, NARFE is the only organization solely dedicated to protecting and preserving the pay and benefits of all federal civilian employees, federal civilian retirees, and their surviving annuitants.  Currently, there are approximately 160,000 federal civilian employees, retired federal civilian retirees, their spouses, and their surviving spouses who are members of NARFE.  But NARFE promotes and represents the interests and concerns of all federal active and retired federal employees.

Shouldn’t you be a member of NARFE and possibly NARFE Dulles 1241?
