Ted graduated from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, now Missouri School of Science & Technology, in applied Mathematics. Commissioned in the U.S. Army. After two years in the service, he worked in the private sector for ten years. Received a M.S. in Business from George Washington University. His government career was spent in IT at Unicor/U.S. Bureau of Prisons and DOT/NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association)
After 31 years of service, he retired in 2006 and joined the Fairfax Chapter of NARFE. In 2014 he became the Program Chairman for the Chapter and in 2017 President, continuing as Program Chair. He has been an active volunteer for Lab Rescue LRCP, monitoring bluebird trail for Fairfax County, volunteering in elementary schools, and at church providing hypothermia shelter for the homeless.
There are more than 4,000 members in Area X spread out throughout five chapters.
