I retired from the Federal Government after almost 36 years of service and became a NARFE member over 25 years ago. My Civil Service career began shortly after attending Madison College, now JMU, when I started working at the JAG School in Charlottesville, Va. My other positions were with the Regional Attorney’s Office at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, the TB Branch at the CDC in Atlanta, and as a Claims Representative with the Social Security Administration in Culpeper, before I transferred to the Roanoke, Va. office. After I retired at Smith Mountain Lake. I volunteered as an an AARP safe driver instructor for many years and served on the hospitality committee with my local Newcomers Club until recently. When my husband and my Mother pased away, I decided to become more involved in my community and my local NARFE Chapter. I enjoy staying active and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am pleased to serve in my new role as the VFN Area VII representative.
